About Dr. Claire Kappa

Meet Dr. Claire Kappa, a highly accomplished internal medicine physician with a wealth of experience and a passion for providing personalized healthcare. A board-certified professional since 2015, Dr. Kappa hails from Baton Rouge, LA, and boasts an impressive academic background. Graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in classical studies and a minor in nutrition, she went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA.

During her time at Emory, Dr. Kappa demonstrated exceptional dedication to her field, earning induction into the junior Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and graduating magna cum laude. Her commitment to excellence continued through her internal medicine residency at Duke University in Durham, NC, where she was part of the Ambulatory Care Leadership Track and served as an assistant chief resident at Duke Regional Hospital.

After completing her residency in 2015, Dr. Kappa became board certified and began her practice at Duke Primary Care Pickett Road, where she not only cared for her patients but also played a vital role in precepting internal medicine resident clinics. Upon relocating to Cincinnati in 2017, she joined Mercy Health's Amberley Primary Care, contributing her expertise and continuing her commitment to medical education by precepting medical students from the University of Cincinnati.

In 2024, Dr. Kappa is embarking on an exciting new chapter by transitioning her practice to Concierge Medicine of Cincinnati (CMOC). Specializing in chronic disease management, including diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia, she is also passionate about preventive medicine. Outside the office, Dr. Kappa enjoys quality time with her husband (an Ob/Gyn) and three children. A devoted sports fan, she cheers for LSU football/basketball/baseball, Duke basketball, the Bengals, and the Reds.

With a love for reading and a talent for cooking Cajun-inspired cuisine, Dr. Kappa is thrilled to bring her expertise to the new Kenwood location of CMOC starting in May 2024. Dedicated to providing exceptional, individualized care, Dr. Kappa is now accepting concierge patients and looks forward to serving the healthcare needs of the community in her new role.

"The heart of patient care lies in fostering a healing partnership, built on compassion, communication, and a relentless commitment to personalized well-being."
